Official Municipal Holidays for 2008

What holidays are recognized as official holidays?

The following days are official municipal holidays for 2008 and in most cases municipal government offices are closed (exceptions:Police, Volunteer Fire and Volunteer EMS):

  • January 1 - New Year's Day
  • January 21 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • February 12 - Lincoln's Birthday
  • February 18 - President's Day
  • March 21- Good Friday
  • May 26 - Memorial Day
  • June 3 - Primary Day
  • July 4 - Independence Day
  • September 1 - Labor Day
  • October 13- Columbus Day
  • November 4 - General Election Day
  • November 11 - Veterans Day
  • November 27 - 28, Thanksgiving
  • December 25 - Christmas

    RECYCLING PROCEDURE CHANGE

    NOTE:CHANGE IN RECYCLING BEGINNING FEBRUARY 1, 2008
    NO NEED TO SEPARATE NEWSPAPERS, MAGAZINES, JUNK MAIL OR MIXED OFFICE PAPER. THE FOLLOWING ITEMS MAY BE PLACED IN A 32 GALLON CONTAINER WITH LID AND PLACED AT THE CURB ON YOUR RECYCLING DAY:RECYCLING STICKERS ARE FREE AND CAN BE PICKED UP AT THE TOWNSHIP BUILDING ALONG WITH A PAMPHLET ON RECYCLNG/b>

    junk mail - corrugated cardboard - newspapers with inserts - computer paper
    magazines - empty brown paper bags - school papers

    THE FOLLOWING ITEMS SHOULD NOT BE PLACED IN THE CONTAINER:

    cereal boxes - pizza boxes - plastic boxes - trash - phone books

    Please continue to place your bottles and cans in a sepasrate container with a lid on it at curbide on you regular day.

    IF THERE IS A HOLIDAY DURING THE WEEK RECYCLING WILL BE ONE DAY LATE FOR THE REST OF THAT WEEK. THE RECYCLING SCHEDULE IS AS FOLLOWS;
